Performance sports treatment for improvement

WHAT IS performance sports?

We offer sports performance programs for collegiate, high school, and youth athletes. Performance Sports focuses on complete athletic development and is tailored based on the individual sport and goals.

Performance Sports is designed to enhance your competitive abilities to make you more successful in your chosen sport. By using evidence-based workouts, our therapists focus on improving speed and agility, as well as reduce the risk of injury. OUR SERVICES

Performance Baseball and Softball
We use the RBI program for our baseball and softball athletes - recover, build, improve - allowing us to address specific needs based on the season. Performance Therapy also uses the PTS Power Pitching program at our Gluckstadt PTS location for pitchers who want to increase pitch speed, prevent injury, and sharpen accuracy.

  • Recovery - Our recovery program focuses on treatments that help restore muscle function, flexibility, and strength during the baseball and softball season. Techniques we use to help our athletes recover may include:

    • Manual Soft Tissue

    • Cupping

    • Dry Needling

    • Electrical Stimulation

    • Low Light Laser Therapy

    • Normatec Compression: Upper and Lower Body

    • Mobility and Strengthening

  • Build - This program is designed for youth, high school, and collegiate-level athletes. It begins with a one-on-one evaluation with objective measures to track progress. The program entails arm care, full body mobility, and plyometric work, all within a small group setting.

  • Improve - Our improve program focuses on enhancing velocity, maintenance, strength, and endurance. These exercises are tailored to prepare for the season. It also heavily relies on the evaluation to determine which skills need to be improved upon to enhance overall athletic performance.

Performance Golf
Our golf program is designed to enhance your golf swing and prevent injury through the use of Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Assessments. We start with a 16-Point Movement Assessment, then develop an individual treatment plan to continue progression.

16-Point Movement Assessment

  • Video Swing Analysis

  • Assess Functional Mobility/Stability

  • Identify Limitations in Golf Swing

  • Golf Fitness Handicap

Individual treatment plans may include:

  • TPI Certified Exercises

  • Manual Therapy

  • Dry Needling

  • MyTPI Home Program

WHAT TO EXPECT

When To Arrive

On average, a patient’s first visit lasts about one hour. We ask that patients arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in and complete paperwork.

What To Bring

On your first visit, you’ll need to bring your physician referral or prescription (if needed), your insurance card, your primary registration forms, your ID or driver’s license and your co-payment (as applicable).

Your First Visit

Our office managers will help you through completing the registration and insurance process, then you will begin your evaluation with a therapist. It is helpful to know your key past medical history, previous treatments, current medications, and any symptoms you may be experiencing. Your movement, strength, coordination, and other factors will be evaluated before our therapist discusses with you their recommendation and prepares a personalized treatment plan.

Treatment Plan

Evaluation findings will be shared with your referring physician or preferred medical expert, and the office managers will help you plan your series of visits based on the quantity and frequency determined by your therapist. Your subsequent visits will focus on treatment that is based on your diagnosis and individualized goals.
