FAQs

Our goal at Performance Therapy is to create a welcoming environment that facilitates open conversation and effective therapy. To ensure your experience is positive, check out some questions below on what to expect from our therapy services. Should you have more specific questions, please call us or ask during your appointment!

How often do I need to attend physical therapy?

Frequency of attendance is dependent upon your diagnosis and your physician’s recommendation. Frequency and quantity will be determined and agreed upon after your evaluation during your first visit.

How do I make an appointment?

Click here to request an appointment or call the location nearest you to schedule your appointment. If you have a physician’s referral, please bring it to your first appointment.

If you don’t have a referral, don’t worry. We’ll work with your physician to obtain one.

What if my insurance is not accepted / I do not have insurance?

For patients who do not have insurance, we offer a self-pay rate, due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, debit card, and credit card.

What do I wear to my appointment?

We recommend that you wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that would be worn for exercise. Sneakers / tennis shoes are preferred in our clinics.

How do I pay for treatment?

We accept cash, check, debit card, and credit card. We are happy to discuss payment plan options as well. Your insurance benefits will be determined before your first visit, and you will be informed of what, if any, payment is necessary on your appointment date.

When will I notice pain relief?

Each patient’s diagnosis is different, so together with your referring physician, our therapists will develop a plan of care that is right for you. This treatment plan will be explained to you by your therapist during your first visit.

How long will my physical therapy appointment be?

Your first visit will last around one hour to allow plenty of time for evaluation and discussion. Subsequent visits often last 30 - 60 minutes. The frequency, quantity, and length of visits will be determined and discussed during your first appointment and may be adjusted as you progress through treatment.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Our office managers will help you through completing the registration and insurance process, then you will begin your evaluation with a therapist. It is helpful to know your key past medical history, previous treatments, current medications, and any symptoms you may be experiencing. Your movement, strength, coordination, and other factors will be evaluated before our therapist discusses with you their recommendation and prepares a personalized treatment plan.

If I want to continue with physical therapy sessions after my pain is gone, can I do so?

Yes, once you have completed your therapy sessions, your therapist will provide you with an at-home continuing therapy program. We can work with you on determining if equipment may be beneficial, and what exercises would be helpful in your continued recovery.

What conditions can be treated by physical therapy?

Our physical therapists are trained medical experts when it comes to musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, so most orthopedic injuries and many conditions can be treated through physical therapy. They work closely with physicians to make sure that your treatment plan is as efficient and effective as possible.
